Earl MacDonald | Be Still, My Soul | Single
Pianist and composer Earl MacDonald releases his new single, a reworking of Sibelius's Finladia hymn: "Be Still, My Soul." The loping jazz groove and hauntling muted trumpet suggest a solitary walk on which an introspective conversation with oneself might take place, acknowledging the reality of difficult life circumstances. Contrary to typical anxious, worrisome responses, the lyricist encourages being still and trusting in God.
