Mariel Bildsten | Ecaroh | Single
With the bookends of the song based on Horace Silver’s trio version, trombonist Mariel Bildsten’s quintet arrives to the bandstand with a spirited interpretation of Silver’s “Ecaroh”.
The band commands attention with spontaneous improvisation and hard-hitting swing. Bildsten and soprano saxophonist Stacy Dillard’s harmonies and lyrical passages carve through the rhythmic surge of Evan Sherman on drums, Ben Wolfe on bass, and Sean Mason on piano.
