“Revolving Twins” is about the concept sets of dwarf stars that revolve around each other. After a time of revolving around each other, the star's force combines them into one star and due to the unstable nature of the two stars combining together, they will explode. When writing about this process, I thought about having melodic lines that were circular and repetitive to emulate the spinning of the planets, pairing groupings of two within the ensemble to have contrapuntal melodies that layer with other groupings within the Nonet. These contrapuntal ideas and use of various timbres give the continuous feeling of this natural phenonium in space!
