The new single from Cowboys & Frenchmen is a musical moment of reflection. Occurring at the midpoint of the album Our Highway, this entr’acte is inspired by American definitions of success, the many forms that wealth can take, and the spiritual challenge we all face over how to spread our inherited wealth in the world. A song for two saxophones flows over the gentle, folk-like groove of ascending harmonies. Without individual solos, the band embraces a cooperative improvisation, developing a short melodic fragment to a climactic moment of collective understanding.
